Giordano Hotel and Restaurant is located in Cavernago (Bergamo) at number 1 Leopardi street. The historical and cultural heritage of this region preserves a hinterland full of towns with lovely historical centers and artisan’s workshops, such as Cavernago Castle, Malpaga Castle and many others. The nearby Iseo Lake and Franciacorta heart (only 20 minutes by car), an area renowned all over the world for its fine wines which Giordano’s guests will have the chance to taste in the hotel Wine-Cellar.

Cavernago Castle, the Earl of Martinengo-Colleoni’s stately residence, is only a few minutes walk away through the quiet Lombardy countryside. The land, on which there was previously a rural construction, was bought by Colleoni in the XVth century. Completely lacking in structural defences such as towers and merlons that normally surround castles that are created as fortresses, Cavernago Castle is designed as the home for the Colleoni family. Cavernago Castle with its elegant and harmonious designs is a typical example of a baroque building.

From the hotel the wonderful Malpaga Castle is within easy to reach by bike or even on foot. Its impressive rooms and its imposing arcade can still recreate the atmosphere of magnificence and greatness which characterised it during the Colleoni era. The walls of the inner yard, whose boundaries are marked by wide imposing arches, are magnificently painted with battle and hunting scenes celebrating the deeds of the great leader of Bergamo. In the wonderful hall on the ground floor people can still admire the frescos representing the visit paid by King Cristian of Denmark to Colleoni and the great banquet organized in his honour.

The Giordano Hotel and Restaurant is only ten minutes by car from the Bergamo City Centre, which is girded with 16th century walls and, beginning with the old main square and adjacent Cathedral courtyard, you can admire buildings of historical importance such as the Palazzo del Comune, Palazzo della Ragione and the Colleoni Chapel. Modern Bergamo instead rotates around its city centre, which includes the Palazzo dell’Accademia Carrara and the Gallery of Modern Art with its fine Gaetano Donizetti Theatre.

The Giordano Hotel and Restaurant is located at only 4 kilometers from the A4 Motorway, exit Seriate, and it is therefore easy to reach by car. The hotel is well connected by SAB bus lines, Q line and R line, to easly reach several interesting places in Bergamo. Particularly easy to reach is the Bergamo Orio al Serio airport at only 10 kilometers from the Hotel.
